First Fermi-LAT Solar Flare Catalog

نویسندگان

چکیده

We present the first Fermi-Large Area Telescope (LAT) solar flare catalog covering 24th cycle. This contains 45 Fermi-LAT flares (FLSFs) with emission in ?-ray energy band (30 MeV–10 GeV) detected a significance of ?5? over years 2010–2018. A subsample containing 37 these exhibits delayed beyond prompt-impulsive hard X-ray phase, 21 showing lasting more than two hours. No is four flares. also this observations GeV from three originating active regions located behind limb visible disk. report lightcurves, spectra, best proton index, and localization (when possible) for all FLSFs. The spectra are consistent decay pions produced by >300 MeV protons. work largest sample high-energy ever reported provides unique opportunity to perform population studies on different phases thus allowing new window physics be opened.

Fermi-LAT Observation of Quiescent Solar Emission

The Large Area Telescope (LAT), one of two instruments on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope is a pair-conversion detector designed to study the gamma-ray sky in the energy range 30 MeV to 300 GeV. Fermi has detected high-energy gamma rays from the quiet Sun produced by interactions of cosmic-ray nucleons with the solar surface, and cosmic-ray electrons with solar photons in the heliosphere. W...

Dark matter subhalos in the Fermi first source catalog

The Milky Way’s dark matter halo is thought to contain large numbers of smaller subhalos. These objects can contain very high densities of dark matter and produce potentially observable fluxes of gamma rays. In this article, we study the gamma ray sources in the Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope’s recently published First Source Catalog and attempt to determine whether this catalog might contain ...

Fermi-LAT Observations of Gamma-Ray Bursts

The Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope observatory is a pair conversion telescope sensitive to gamma-rays over more than four energy decades, between 20 MeV and more than 300 GeV. Acting in synergy with the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) the other instrument onboard the mission the LAT features unprecedented sensitivity for the study of gammaray bursts (GRBs) in te...

Beaming effect for Fermi/LAT blazars

In this talk, we will show the beaming effect for Fermi/LAT blazars, then we discuss the correlations between γ-ray luminosity and other parameters, such as radio Doppler factors, superluminal motions, and core-dominance parameters. We also compare the Doppler factors determined from the γ-ray luminosity, X-ray emissions, and the short-term time scales with those from other methods. Our discuss...
